Karen Wild Díaz was born in Montevideo, Uruguay. She studied philosophy at the University of Paris 8-Vincennes-Saint Denis, and is now an assistant professor at the University of the Republic. Her first book in English, Anti-Ferule was originally published as Anti-Férula (2013, Buenos Aires: Editorial Itinerante; 2014, Niñobúho cartonera). Her poems have appeared in the Argentine anthology Hijas de diablo, Hijas de santo (2014: Niñobúho cartonera) and in English translation in Blue Lyra Review, Copper Nickel, and América Invertida: An Anthology of Younger Uruguayan Poets. Karen practices contemporary dance and incorporates performance into her poetry presentations, and she blogs at www.amapurea.blogspot.com.

Ron Paul Salutsky, a native of Somerset, Kentucky, is the author of the poetry collection Romeo Bones (Steel Toe Books 2013). His poetry, translations, fiction, and scholarship have appeared in Colorado Review, Tupelo Quarterly, Prairie Schooner, Narrative, Juked, John Clare Society Journal, Routledge Encyclopedia of Modernism, Copper Nickel, and América Invertida: An Anthology of Younger Uruguayan Poets. Ron lives in Thomasville, Georgia, and teaches at Southern Regional Technical College.

Victoria Estol was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1983. Her poetry has earned a commendation from National Pablo Neruda Competition for Young Poets, and it is featured in the anthologies Cualquiercosario (2013), co-edited between Uruguay (Yaugurú) and Spain (Libros de la imperdible), and Fixture (2014), co-edited by the Argentine publishers Chuy and Malaletra. Her poetry also has appeared in a diversity of international journals. Bicho Bola (Yaugurú, 2013) is her first full-length book of poetry.

Seth Michelson is the author of Eyes Like Broken Windows (Press 53, 2012), as well as the chapbooks House in a Hurricane (Big Table, 2010), Kaddish for My Unborn Son (Pudding House, 2009), and Maestro of Brutal Splendor (Jeanne Duvall, 2005). His translation of El Ghetto (Sudamericana, 2003), by the internationally acclaimed Argentine poet Tamara Kamenszain, appears as The Ghetto (Point of Contact, 2011). He teaches the poetry of the Americas at Washington and Lee University, and he welcomes contact through his website.

About: 

Eduardo Milán is a Uruguayan-born poet who left Uruguay in 1979 for Mexico due to political persecution. He has published over a dozen books of  poems, as well as essays and literary criticism. He is the recipient of the Premio de Poesía Aguascalientes.

Leora Fridman is a writer, translator and educator. An Assistant Director of the Juniper Institute and co-curator of the Jubilat/Jones Reading Series, she lives in Massachusetts.
